Week 10, Reflection 2

WOOOOO 2 more weeks left! This week was quite short with this week being Easter! Thank God for that lol 😀 This week in Biol 1362 we focused on the TCA cyle.  The Krebs cycle can be seen in the diagram below!

I’ve decided to change things up a bit. Instead of the normal reflections ( me blabbing) I’ve prepared a puzzle to highlight some terms learnt this week. So here we go! I know it’s difficult to give me a feed back on where the words are but it’s good to do on your spare time 🙂

Citrate Synthase-The joining of a two-carbon unit with a four-carbon unit. It catalyzes the first reaction in the cycle.

Dehydration– Loss of water molecules

Citric Acid( cycle) – Series of chemical reactions used to generate energy through the oxidization of acetate.

Succinate– Salts formed by neutralizing succinic acid

ATP– Transports chemical energy within cells for processes such as metabolism

Precursor– A substance from which another (usually more active)  substance is produced
